Service-learning in Sustainable Development/Fighting Poverty

Service-learning provides our students with an atypical and uncommon experiential learning experience. It is my pleasure to serve as the instructor of two service-learning courses at HKBU, ECON3075 Service-learning in Sustainable Development and GCAP3076 Serivce-learning in Fighting Poverty.

In both course, sustainable development and poverty issues are learnt through community engagement. Service-learning, however, is much more than a programme of volunteer services. Our students are expected to apply their knowledge from the community engagement and to contribute to the society consequently.

Throughout the service-learning journey, some of them were frustrated while others were exhausted or even hurt. However, none of them gave up. Let's come and share their stories!
